If English is an additional language for you, but you already speak it quite well, this is a good programme to choose. The Diploma in English (Advanced) helps you develop your English language skills to an advanced level. Courses will give you the linguistic, learning and cultural skills for employment. In the third semester you can study courses that prepare you for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that require an IELTS score of 6.5.
The Instituted teaches using the Communicative method which will improve your English in all four
skills – Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading. The key aims are to improve communication skills, fluency and confidence in English. Teachers use course books together with extra materials including grammar books, CDs, tapes, DVDs and some online materials.
